The Danger of Comparison

"Comparison is the thief of joy."
Theodore Roosevelt

People are happy with their lives and all seem to be going all well and good for them until they log on to their social media accounts. After watching their friends on Facebook and Instagram and saw how far they have gone with their lives, they wonder why they are still at the same spot, stuck without progress or so they thought.

Then they start to feel empty and the joy they once had suddenly becomes a mirage because it's now directed on the things they don't  have.

No doubt this is the lot of most people on a regular basis.

But Hey!
What has the other person's life got to do with you. They are living out their dreams on their own terms.
You should be busy pursuing yours too and not checking the other person out. It is called minding your own business!

As Jordan Peterson said
"Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today."

How close are you getting to fulfilling your dream? Are you closer today than you were yesterday?

To envy another person is an unhealthy attitude that seeks to destroy you and waste your life. Don't do that!

Be happy for another person's success and let their success stories reinforce in you the belief that you too can live the life of your dreams.
