Three things

I’m often struck by the ability of a single individual to change the world.

Think Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Elon Musk, Larry Page, Anne Wojcicki, Martin Luther King Jr. and Indira Gandhi, to name a few.

They each started with no money and no technology, just their passion and perseverance.

Ultimately, three things make anything possible: People, technology and money.

If you have the right people on your team and enough money, you can create the technology — that’s called innovation.

If you have the right people and the right technology, you can attract the funding — that’s called venture capital.

But money and technology alone, without the persistent and passionate human mind driving things forward, are useless.

If I had to name my superpower, it would be persistence — not giving up, even when everyone tells me it isn’t going to work.

My most important successes (companies like the XPRIZE Foundation, Singularity University, Planetary Resources and Zero-G) have taken me 10 years or more to implement.

Had I given up in the face of the criticism or adversity, you wouldn’t be reading this blog post.

What good is patience without persistence?

Doing anything big and bold in life is hard work, and learning to persist (try, fail, learn, try again, etc.) is fundamental to any entrepreneur’s success.

Another name for this superpower is ‘grit,’ the will to keep pushing, iterating, and taking the next step in the face of hardship.

Remember that true failure only comes when you give up.

IT IS NOT EASY

On your path to bringing your dreams to reality, their will be real challenges, their will be hurdles along your path. Life will test you to know the authenticity of your dream, by bringing across your path, tough times and put you in a hard situation. You will be tempted to give up and to just throw in the towel, you will be frustrated and even doubt if your dream will really see the light of the day, you will almost want to conclude that maybe its just a fairy tale which will never see the light of the day.

Some would wonder, why am I being this negative, I am actually meant to encourage you. Yeah, that's exactly what i am doing, I am preparing you to be a fighter and not a quitter. You need to be tough to win!

You need to arm yourself with the boldness to look your challenges and set backs in the face and say, I will not give up! I will ensure this dream of mine manifests. As Les Brown fondly says, if it is hard then do it HARD!!

If it is easy, everyone would be doing it. It takes you nothing to just dream but it will cost you so much to bring it to reality. It demands a reasonable amount of responsibility.

Why?

Responsibility is the price for greatness, its only people who are willing and committed to go all the way against all odds, that eventually wins. People would try to talk you out of believing in your dreams.

But! Don't listen to them, keep your dreams and guard it jealously and obligate yourself to bringing it to fulfilment and guess what, it will manifest. If you can dream it then it can happen if you follow it through with dedication and resilience.

Success Leaves Tracks

Success leaves Tracks~ Brian Tracy

Success leaves tracks, this is indeed the greatest quote to have ever been known in the area of success and it is coming from the world's famous success expert, Brian Tracy. A great discovery indeed!

This statement pushes us to conclude then, that being successful is not a game of luck or chance, it is not trial and error, it is about following calculated steps.

Take for instance, someone wants to cook a particular meal, say rice or beans for instance or maybe an egusi soup(a Nigerian soup) or salad. It would be very unreasonable, to just get any ingredient mixed together in no particular order and then expect to get the desired result without first consulting someone that knows how to prepare those meals for counsel. The Holy Book says "In the multitude of counsellors, their is safety."

No man on earth, who has ever been successful, were born with all the knowledge of what it takes to be successful in their fields of interest, all of them learnt it. The likes of Bill gates, Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Bishop David Oyedepo, Dr Myles Munroe, John C Maxwell etc. All of these great men learnt from those who has gone ahead of them. Brian Tracy always talks about Jim Rohn to be one of his great mentors, John Maxwell talked about his father to be his role model.

This means good news for you too, if all those successful individuals I mentioned, learnt all they knew, then that means you too can. Tony Robbins once said "The Fastest way to become successful in your field of interest, is to model someone that has already done what you want to do". This means you learn their skills, mindset, habitset, heart set, everything that they were doing to get the results they got. Once you do so, you will sure reach your goals faster with less stress.

Remember, success leaves tracks, your duty is to recognize the tracks and follow it.

Are You Wasting Those Failures?

I know most people will wonder at the title of this article. They'll wonder is their any relevance to failure, it's as good as being gone. Most of us has had memories of many failed attempts and we don't want to remember it, we really wish we could just forget it. A large many have never attempted any big endeavor for the fear of failure, needless to say, many dreams go unfulfilled because of the fear of failure.

Dream Big!
