The Law Of Process

Hi there,

The above title was used in one of John C Maxwell's book titled 21 irrefutable laws of leadership, where he stated that "Leadership develops daily, not in a day". Permit me also to lend that thought as relating to life and most importantly in the pursuit of your dream or targeted goals. Many times we wish that things should just happen fast, we anticipate that we should just enter into our destination overnight. It doesn't work that way, there is a process involved in anything that will last.

As Jim Rohn often stated in his books, "You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight." That's how it works. You can decide today, right now, what direction you want to take in life. You can decide now, what those things that you desire are, and start making plans towards its attainment daily. Though you might not see quick changes immediately, but if you keep working at it, without being weary, you will get there.

Just like a farmer who sows a seed in the ground, now it would be so unwise of such a farmer to start expecting the harvest the next day. It doesn't work that way, he would have to wait patiently until those seeds germinate, given that he also provides the right environment for that seed to grow. He nurtures the seed daily, and removes the pests and weeds that would spoil the seed from growing fully to harvest time, this is what the law of process entails.

It is not enough, to have a dream, just like the farmer plants his seed and protects it, so that he sees harvest time. You too also have to start working towards that dream, making plans towards its eventuality. Making sure that you protect it from every pests, i.e those that would try to talk you out of your dream.

And it is important that you do this daily, else you will lose the dream. Many times people dream, but they don't follow it through daily with massive actions, no wonder they lose it and end up as a mediocre. This is what the law of process demands, you work things out daily, if you desire to see results.

Everything that grows in life follows this principle of process. Starting from a baby that grows into a full grown man or woman, insects which grow up from the larva stage to the adult stage, the trees which grows from the seed form to the fruit form. So also, the same applies to your dream too. You grow it from that little, seemingly insignificant stage to the point where every person in the world can't deny its impact.

Therefore, dear friends, it is time to get to work!
