The secret of every great man's success story lies in the days of his little beginnings. Just as a tree's strength and productivity level is not found in its fruits but rather in its roots, likewise a man's achievement is in the decisions that he made at the beginning and has continued to abide by it ever since. As Jim rohn stated "success is a few simple discipline practiced everyday."
The successes of those great men and women that we are celebrating today are only compound effect of what they did and has continued to do, when everything didn't look like it was going to work out. A truly successful person can always reproduce again and again what he has accomplished, no matter where he founds himself even when he has lost all his material accomplishments. As the Holy Scriptures says, "a man's life does not consist of the abundance of what he possesses". What really makes the true man is who he is on the inside.
A tree even when under harsh circumstances and all its fruits has been plucked, still has the capacity to produce more fruits. Why? because the fruits are inside the tree. To become truly successful, it begins from the inside out and not from the outside in. You have to develop the mindset of an achiever to really become an achiever. And the way to go about this is to diligently and consistently inculcate few simple disciplines of enlightening your self daily by reading great books along the areas of your interest as pertaining to your present needs and ensuring you practice those principles you glean from such great books.
As you consistently do so, you are building on the inside of you, the mind of an achiever and this begins to affect the way you see the world around you and of course the way you think and act. Success is not what you pursue, it is what you attract by the person you become.
So keep at it, keep growing, keep developing yourself, keep doing all the seemingly little things that will help you become better daily, don't despise these little beginnings because they will form the very foundation of the successes tomorrow.
No tree ever started as just a tree, but rather a seed. So also, though all we might be seeing now maybe the seed form, but if you don't quit and you don't relent in continual nurturing and cultivation, we will one day eventually see the real greatness buried inside you all this while.
On a final note, I therefore admonish you not to envy a successful man's material possessions but rather learn from his story, his story is his secret.
